Kuchaveli Maha Vidyalayam was established in the year 1953 and became a famous school in Kuchaveli region. It has now been renamed as The/Kuchachveli Vivekananda Maha Vidyalayam. The reason is because wild elephants destroy crops, economic customs of people etc. The school grounds were also subject to the ferocity of wild elephants.          Most of the people from Kuchchaveli had been affected by civil war and tsunami. There are nearly 250 students in the school currently. Hard work and dedication of the past principal the grades had been promoted from grade 1 to grade 11. School had been working with many problems such as lack of resources, lack of teachers, and absence of students. School administration has been totally changed after 2017 because of new principal appointed. Mr. M.Sritharaanantham has been appointed as the principal in 2017 February with 9 teachers only. After his appointment he worked hard and has good relationship with all the higher officials in the educational environment. 2017, 2018 and 2019 are the most important period of the school. Many educational achievements have been obtained by the students. After 34 years GC E (A/L) Arts stream started in the school with 8 students. After that students have obtained very good results in GCE (O/L) examination with 9 subjects passed in 2018. Two students have got more than cut off marks in scholarship and passed 100% First time in our school history in 2019.
